TITLE OR THEME: What Makes Us Human? / Being
Human
SECTION 1 – Your
Final Major Project (guide 150 words)
What makes
us human? The theme for this project is ‘Being Human’ however I am not going to
look at our symbolic behaviour, language and culture which is very popular for
people to research into. However, I’m going to focus my research more into our
scientific breakdown of the human body. Exploring the different organ systems,
skeletal structure and the different periodic elements that are found within
the human body. For my final major project will design an infographic poster
collection of the different elements within the human body, to present this I
will then design a perspective installation that will come together when viewed
at a specific angle to present what makes us human. From my Being Human project,
I want to inform people about the human body using the poster collection, to
inform the views about what makes us Human.
SECTION 2 – Influences,
Research, Sources and Ideas (guide 150 words)
During the
exploratory and pathway stage of the course I have developed new techniques and
my knowledge of artists has expanded massively throughout. During this project
I am going to research into the renaissance art composition to develop my
understanding of the beauty, balance
and harmony in art and design achieve beauty, balance and harmony in art
and design. This will help improve the quality of my designs for this project
and within future projects. I will be looking at Zoer who was involved in the designing
of the Lacoste perception advert and being influenced by the vector based
designs by Aaron James Draplin and Brenden Goodcuff, to develop my design
processes using Illustrator. Throughout this project I will research into
perspective installations for my Final FMP.
SECTION 3 – Techniques,
Processes and Timescale (guide 150 words)
Throughout
the project I will be using a wide range of the Adobe Creative Cloud software’s
(Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator) will be used to create the projects artwork
of vector based images and to add effects to the images to ensure that the
poster collection will stand out and encourage people to find out more. Using
the software’s will allow me to produce work of a high standard effectively,
within my timescale for the project. For the perspective I will be using ranges
of materials that I haven’t had much experience using. As a result, I will then
be more experienced using the materials saving me time when it comes to my
Final FMP.
SECTION 4 – Method
of Evaluation (guide 100 words)
To ensure
that my project work and research is kept to a high standard and meeting my
timescale I will be continuously reflecting on my work in my reflective
practice book. This will allow me to
look back on the choices I have made throughout this project. During the project I will also have my peers to look at my
work will give me an outsider’s perspective, suggesting possible improvements and
to make sure my work is still on track. I think this will be the most effective
way to evaluate my work, as I have found peers feedback to be very useful
whilst working on a project for a long duration because they can see thing that
I would have missed.

Timeline
Week 1 – Using
the research that I have gathered I will evaluate, the research and start to
generate my initial designs ideas to start my project developing in the correct
direction. Continuously throughout this project I will extent my research when
required to develop my knowledge and skills. Within this project I will be
researching into being human, developing knowledge about the elements within
the human body and the different perspective installations that have been used
in TV adverts and indents and renaissance art.
Week 2 – Continue
My design ideas, related to my research. After looking at the electron
structure of the different elements of the human body I will then look at where
the different elements found and what other uses the have outside of the human
body.
Week 3 – Finalise
my research and look into renaissance art composition. Start using layout pad
to develop my initial ideas for the poster collection going into detail about
each section working out different formats to present the information about
what makes us human.
Week 4 –
Develop my design ideas using the creative Cloud software’s and gain feedback
from my peers for my initial ideas after I have presented them using Adobe
Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Evaluate
in reflective practice my work from the feedback from my peers.
Week 5 – Referencing
my artist of interest I will start to finalise my designs for the being human
poster collection and come up with a suitable order and layout for the poster
collection.
Week 6 – Print
out my final ideas on to A4 to look how well the colours work effectively
together and make sufficient changes if needed, to ensure that the poster
collection informs the viewer and will have the biggest impact, catching the
viewers attention.
Week 7 – Finales
the Poster collection, and then print out to the scale of A3, for the posters
to then be presented in an installation, that presents to the viewer what makes
us Human. At the end of the project I will evaluate my final installation and
record the feedback I get from the viewers of my installation.
